Speaker: Mr Steven Cutts (Orthopaedic Surgeon)

In this session, Steven Cutts will discuss the effects of zero gravity on the human body as well as the radiation dose found in deep space. How can astronauts in the future protect themselves from these dangers and will they stop us ever exploring the planets?

Steven Cutts studied physics at Imperial College and medicine at St Thomas's Hospital in London. He has a lifetime interest in the exploration of outer space and his sci-fi novel, Viking village, was published five years ago.

You may remember Steven's previous talks for CSES on Life on Mars and Joint Replacement.
