SSTL is the world's leading small satellite company, having launched 49 satellites with many more in manufacture. Over recent years advanced composite technologies have become common place in SSTL platforms and payloads, offering a wide range of performance and cost benefits. This lecture will provide a brief introduction to SSTL's composite engineering activities, identify key challenges in the technology's application and an insight to how composites can help us continue to change the economics of space.
