We are delighted to announce the opportunity to attend an educational visit to Chelmsford Cathedral on Wednesday 15th November 2023. The event is organised by Drapers' Academy in collaboration with CSES and Chelmsford Cathedral.

The programme of events is as follows:

  • 9.30 – Arrive at Chelmsford Cathedral
  • 9.45 – Introductions
  • 10.05 – Presentation on Quantum Key Distribution – Alan Denton
  • 10.45 – Interactive poll
  • 11.00 – Short break
  • 11.15 – Medical Experience as an Engineer and Scientist in Medicine – Dr Krishnaa Mahbubani
  • 12.00 – Interactive poll
  • 12.15 – Closing remarks
  • 12.20 – All schools depart

The event is open to students in Years 12 and 13 who are studying STEM-related subjects. As the programme suggests, there is a good representation of Medical and Engineering speakers however the event is not limited to these; please note there will be further reference to careers and information across the STEM subjects from supporters of the event.

Students are required to dress in a smart and professional manner. Students are required to bring a packed lunch or food that they require.

For further information and to book spaces, please contact amy.knight@cses.org.uk by Friday 27th October 2023. Please note, if there is a large response from schools, we will limit schools to an allocation of students to ensure all schools can attend. If you require any additional information, do not hesitate to contact us.
