Sizewell C is a new nuclear power station on the East Suffolk coast and will generate 3.2-gigawatts of low-carbon electricity for around 6 million homes. It will be a close copy of Hinkley Point C which is already underconstruction in Somerset. These new power stations will play a key role in our energy future, supplying reliable, clean electricity far into the future.

A Chartered Mechanical Engineer with extensive experience in the Nuclear Power Generation and Marine Engineering Sectors. Derek is working on the Sizewell C project as the EDF Engineering Delivery Lead. He has experience in the Middle East following a 15 month secondment to the Atkins Nuclear business in Abu Dhabi supporting the Emirates new nuclear build programme. Derek is a qualified Nuclear Safety Case author and has also held senior marine engineering roles at BAE Systems.

Refreshments will be available from 30 minutes before the advertised start time.
